We are celebrating #APIHeritageMonth! Throughout May, we honor the rich history, vibrant cultures, and important contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander individuals to our communities. Let's use this month not only to celebrate, but also to amplify API voices, uplift stories, and build a more equitable future for all. We will share interviews with Sunny Lee and Austin Xu, co-leads of the Asian and Pacific Islander employee resource group (ERG) at SWCA. Stay tuned to learn more about their experiences leading the ERG and their recommendations on how individuals can better support and be allies to the API community.

Did you know it's theorized that trees can communicate with each other through an underground network of fungi? This incredible system is believed to help trees share nutrients, warn each other of threats, and even support their young saplings. We are fascinated by the interconnectedness of nature and the vital role trees play in our world! Pictured: All across the nation, we love planting trees as part of the #SWCAGivesBack program. #ArborDay

SWCA Environmental Consultants is excited to be partnering with the Utah State Historic Preservation Office to support Bar V Bar Enterprises, the family corporation that keeps the McConkie Ranch Petroglyphs open for the public to enjoy. SWCA has helped the family obtain a landowner grant from SHPO. This is a great program that promotes preservation and interpretation of archaeology on private land, which is what McConkie Ranch has always been about. Staff from our Vernal and Salt Lake offices and their families had a fun time on Saturday helping with trail maintenance, parking area improvements, and preparations for the installation of interpretive signs that will be ready later this summer. Thanks to Julie Kramer, Sarah Nicolaysen, Brooke Cohen, Chelsea Udell, Tiffany Tuttle Collins, and Trevor Herritt for the hard work! #SWCAGivesBack

Discover how Annie's personal journey led her to co-lead the group, advocating for mental health awareness and empowerment at SWCA. (link in bio)

Tiny yet mighty, the Texas prairie dawn #flower represent an increasingly rare habitat within the remaining remnants of the Gulf Coastal tallgrass prairie #ecosystem. Our Houston office recently teamed up with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to survey the endangered flower for three days on the Katy Prairie, providing insights into the ecosystem's health. Let's continue stewarding nature's wonders!
